Professor Ransford Gyampo, CEO of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA), visited Tamale on Tuesday, 25th February 2025, where he engaged with top Platinum shippers.
Prof. Gyampo toured two companies: Sekaf Ghana Limited, which produces unrefined organic shea butter and shea-based bath and beauty products; and Savannah Fruits Company, a processor of natural products for the international edible and cosmetic markets.
At the Savannah Fruits Company, Prof. Gyampo was impressed with the integrated supply chain management system, which spans the collection of shea nuts to refining them via a state-of-the-art European facilities, and finally, delivery to clients, mostly in Asia, Europe and the Americas. The company showcased their international certifications for quality, fair play and processing, affirming their world class standards of operation, and the due recognition that have attained.
The meeting focused on identifying solutions to the operational challenges they face, and underscored the GSA’s commitment to supporting the growth and development of the commercial shipping industry, and in effect Ghana’s international trade.
Prof. Gyampo applauded the companies for their effort to support the nation’s quest to improve its Balance of Payments through increased exports. He reassured them of GSA’s support to facilitate their operations for theirs as well as Ghana’s benefit.
Tamale hosts the Northern Zonal office of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority, which covers all the five (5) northern regions of Ghana.
