The leadership of the Traders Advocacy Group Ghana (TAGG) has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA), Prof. Ransford Gyampo, to discuss possible partnerships aimed at advancing the interests of shippers across the country.
During the meeting, TAGG reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the GSA to ensure a more efficient and competitive shipping and logistics industry that contributes meaningfully to Ghana’s economic growth.
The President of TAGG, Mr. David Kwadwo Amoateng, extended his goodwill to the newly appointed CEO and assured him of TAGG’s full support in carrying out his mandate. “We are here to welcome you and offer you all our support. We believe that under your leadership, the interests of shippers will be well protected, and the challenges within the industry will be effectively addressed,” he stated.
Echoing similar sentiments, the General Secretary of TAGG, Mr. Emmanuel Nana Opoku Acheampong, expressed confidence in Prof. Gyampo’s leadership, noting that his vast experience and commitment to fairness would bring the much-needed reforms to the shipping and logistics sector. “We trust in you to help bring sanity into the shipping and logistics industry. We believe that, under your watch, the sector will contribute significantly to economic growth,” he remarked.
In response, Prof. Gyampo reiterated his dedication to reducing the cost of doing business and ensuring a favourable environment for all stakeholders in the sector. He assured TAGG of the GSA’s commitment to fostering collaboration with key industry players to address existing challenges and improve trade facilitation.
“We will do all we can to bring down the cost of doing business. Our primary objective is to protect the interests of all stakeholders in the sector. I am ready to engage all relevant state institutions and industry players to develop solutions that will benefit Ghana’s economy. Let us all work together and do what is right for the country,” he emphasised.
