The CEO of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA), Prof. Ransford Gyampo embarked on a working visit to the Northern Zonal Office in Tamale on Tuesday, 25th February 2025. The visit aimed to engage with staff and assess the operations within the Zone.
He seized the opportunity to confer with the staff on strategies to build on the achievements so far, and also address challenges that are specific to the zone.
Prof. Gyampo was warmly welcomed by the staff, led by the Northern Zonal Manager, Frederick Atogiyire. Speaking on behalf of the staff, Mr. Atogiyire expressed gratitude for the CEO’s decision to meet with them in-person and to apprise himself of their operations first hand.
The staff took turns to outline the resources required to engage their output and to strengthen the position of GSA as a formidable regulator of the trans-national trade ecosystem, being the gatekeepers of transit trade along the northern corridor. They also outlined some personal development needs whose speedy resolution would energize them to lift the bar of their performance even higher.
Prof. Gyampo acknowledged the warm reception he received with gratitude, and pledged his prompt attention to the resource and personal development needs laid before him. He urged the team not to rest on their oars whilst their needs are being attended to. He said, ” My approach to leadership is one of collaboration, mutual respect and hard work. I count on your relentless effort in our quest to deliver our mandate as the fair and firm regulator of the transnational trade. This is necessary to not only drive the government’s “Reset” agenda, but also guarantee a sustained thriving trade sector for the mutual benefit of all players in the sector.”
Prof. Gyampo was accompanied by the Director of Operations, Head of Corporate Affairs and the Head of Human Resource & Administration of GSA.
