The acting Executive Secretary of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) Mr. Francis Torkornoo has paid a courtesy call on the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) on 17th February ,2020 at the Ghana Shippers’ House in Accra.

Welcoming the delegation, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the GSA, Ms. Benonita Bismarck underscored the critical role NACOB plays in the prevention of contraband goods coming into and leaving the country.
She called for the need for collaboration between the two organisations for the benefit of shippers. She extended an invitation to NACOB to join a team of resource persons for this year’s Exporters’ Forum to sensitise exporters on its shipment requirements to engender compliance.
On his part, Mr. Torkornoo reaffirmed his outfit’s commitment to ensuring that the country’s borders are safe and secure from illicit drugs and asked for the support and cooperation of other sister agencies.

The visit created an avenue for the two state organisations to discuss issues pertaining to their respective mandates and how to deepen their relationship with each other to protect and promote the interests of shippers.
The meeting also discussed charges on exports, publication of shipment requirements, standard operating procedures, inspection requirements among others.
