The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) has launched a mobile application to provide instant shipping information and its services to the convenience of shippers and the general public in any part of the country and the world.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Ms Benonita Bismarck, said the application, among other things, provides information on the contacts and locations of shipping agents, freight forwarders, Customs house agents, government agencies and other shipping service providers.
The mobile application, known as ‘ShippersApp’, was outdoored to the media Wednesday 20thFebruary, 2019 in Accra during the first quarter edition of the 2019 Shipping Quarter and Outlook.
The ShippersApp also has information on the negotiated charges of shipping service providers such the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), freight forwarders and other shipping service providers.
It also has information on the Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) of vessels in the ports of Tema and Takoradi, maritime trade statistics, notices to shippers, industry news, a quick avenue for making enquiries and lodging complaints with respect to shipments.
Ms Bismarck appealed to all shippers, shipping service providers, the media and all parties who do business in the country’s ports to download the mobile application.
The ShippersApp can be downloaded from Appstore and Google Store.
