The Minister of Transport, Mr Kwaku Ofori-Asiamah, has touted his ministry’s achievements on the last day of the maiden “Results Fair” in Accra on 16th January, 2020 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The removal of tree stumps on the Volta Lake by the Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA), he said, has reduced about 99 per cent of accidents which hitherto resulted in the loss of lives and property.

Mr Ofori-Asiamah also added that the introduction of the Paperless Port project by the government and the construction of the MPS Terminal 3 under the Tema Port expansion project has significantly improved the time of clearance of goods and the turnaround time of vessels respectively.
Expressing concern on the increasing number of road accidents, he appealed to drivers and commuters to respect road safety guidelines and traffic regulations as part of their shared responsibility in reducing accidents.

The “Results Fair” which run from 14th to 16th January, 2020 was an initiative of the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation in collaboration with the Ministry of Information to provide a platform for government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to showcase to the public outcomes of their policy interventions and programmes. A total of 33 MDAs took part in the event.
The fair, organised under the theme “Delivering results to our citizens: Work in progress”, was launched by the President, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Other ministers of state, heads and directors of MDAs including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA), Ms. Benonita Bismarck and hundreds of people took part in the three-day event.
