The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) has launched the maiden edition of The Shipping Quarter and Outlook, a platform to engage with the media to provide timely and accurate information on the shipping industry to the general public.
The initiative which would be a quarterly media engagement on developments in the maritime industry, seeks to give stakeholders such as policy makers and shippers the needed information with respect to trade volumes, prospects, challenges among other relevant information necessary for an efficient and progressive trade facilitation.
Speaking at the launch of the event at the media room of the Authority at the Shippers’ House in Accra Monday, the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Dr Kofi Mbiah, touched on the global shipping economy with respect to Ghana’s trade performance in 2016 and indications for this year and other issues relating to the 2017 national budget and trade facilitation.
