The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) has organised a one-day sensitisation exporters’ forum under the theme “Export procedures for Non-Traditional Exports” for shippers in the Northern Region in Tamale on Wednesday 3rd October, 2018.

The forum was necessitated by concerns raised by shippers during shipper visitations and outreaches by the Authority in the northern part of the country on the need for cost-effective means of shipment of their exports.
Representatives of Damco Logistics Ghana, a recognised leader in the transportation and logistics industry, Enam Kenyenso and Dede Opata spoke to the shippers on the services they provide in consolidated shipments.
Mr Daniel Aryeetey from the GRA-Customs Division also took the exporters through customs procedures involved in the shipment of cargoes.

Speaking at the event, the Northern Regional Zonal Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Mr Seidu Bakari commended the GSA for organising the forum and called for more cooperation between the two organisations in addressing the needs of shippers.
A Principal Shipper Services & Trade Facilitation Officer of the GSA in charge of the Tamale Office, Mr John Glover assured the shippers of the Authority’s commitment to building their capacities and removing trade bottlenecks in their way.
Scores of shippers who export Bolga baskets, smocks, artefacts and other Non-Traditional Exports (NTEs) attended the event.
