The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) participated in the 26th Trade Fair organized by the Ghana International Trade Fair Company Limited.
The event which happened at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel from 14th – 18TH April, 2022 saw several patrons and exhibitors from various sectors of the economy patronize the event.
Several people who visited the GSA’s stand at the fair inquired about how the Authority can assist them with their import and export operations and also build working relationships. Officers from the Authority used the opportunity to educate them on the Authority’s mandate and provide responses to their queries.
Some of the personalities who visited GSA’s stand include the Minister Plenipotentiary – Commercial at the Embassy of Egypt, Mr. Aly Basha and the Chief Executive Officer of Phamanova, Mr. Dhananjay Tripathi.
At a brief ceremony held to officially open the Trade Fair, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Trade Fair Company, Dr. Agnes Adu acknowledged the opportunities available for shippers to expand their businesses through the platform created by the Trade Fair Company Limited.
“Through this, the G.T.F.C. facilitates the creation of export trade linkages between Ghanaian and Foreign Exhibitors/Visitors, Business Representatives and Embassy staff etc. who visit the fairgrounds. This platform offers enormous opportunities to Ghanaian businesses to clinch deals to supply intermediate inputs and raw materials to foreign manufacturers”, she noted.
The fair which was on the theme: “Building A Sustainable Entrepreneurial Nation: Helping SMEs Rebound”.
The GSA’s stand attracted several visitors including students, tourists and some industry players. Visitors to the Authority’s stand at the Trade Fair expressed satisfaction and commended the GSA for efforts to improve operations in the shipping industry by protecting and promoting the interest of importers and exporters.
