The GSA is one of the designated agencies in Ghana that is tasked with the duty of promoting the use of Ghana’s corridor by landlocked neighbours for their transit cargoes. The GSA undertakes several activities in this regard including:
- Signing of Memoranda of Understanding with its counterpart Shippers Councils in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger to facilitate the transit trade and improve the efficiency of the transport chain with the those countries.
- Formation of Transit Shipper Committees in Accra and Takoradi to among other functions, discuss and find solutions to critical issues and problems hindering the smooth operation of the transit trade in the country.
