The 12th Maritime Law Seminar organised by the Judicial Training Institute (JTI) with support from the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) for judges of the Superior Courts in Ghana has ended in Accra with a tour of the Tema Port on 12th October, 2019.
In a presentation, the Manager for Legal Licenses and Permits of the Meridian Port Services (MPS), Mr. Frank Ebo Brown took the judges through the services provided by the new terminal and the critical role it is playing to make the Tema Port the go-to port in the sub-region.
This was followed by a tour of the new port facility by the judges to observe the operation of the newly-installed state-of-the-art gantry cranes, automated gated facilities for truck drivers, reefer yard among others.

The visit ended with a cruise in a tugboat on the sea within and outside the breakwaters of the Tema Port.
The tour, which was facilitated by the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), was to help the judges familiarise themselves with the operations of the port and to enrich their understanding of the shipping and logistics industry.
