The Kumasi Branch of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) has organised a forum for exporters in Kumasi on 16th October, 2019 to sensitise them on the role of stakeholders in the export value chain.
This comes after two other exporters’ forums organised this year by the GSA for exporters and stakeholders in the shipping and logistics industry in Accra and Takoradi.
The event was attended by representatives from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), trade associations such as the Ashanti Craftsmen Association, Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA), Ghana Haulage Truck Drivers Association (GHTDA), Ghana-Burkina Fruit Transport Association (GBFTA) and other individual exporters.
Resource persons from the Takoradi Container Terminal (TACOTEL), OLAM (Ghana) Cocoa and the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) made presentations to the participants on their specific roles in the export value chain.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of the GSA, Ms Benonita Bismarck, the Tema Branch Manager of the Authority, Mrs Monica Josiah noted that the volume and value of exports in any nation are the major drivers of economic growth.

The CEO assured the participants of the Authority’s commitment to pursuing projects and activities that give importers and exporters the competitive advantage required to trade on the international market.
